The aging process causes the face and hands to lose underlying fat and collagen, causing our skin to sag and get wrinkles. Sometimes those wrinkles can make us look older than we actually are, but dermal fillers can help improve our appearance.

Injectable wrinkle fillers have become more popular due to the instant effect they have on skin sagging and wrinkle problems that result from aging, sun damage, skin trauma, scarring, or disease. They are most commonly used to treat facial lines like laugh lines, smile lines, smoker’s lines, marionette lines, and wrinkles, especially between the eyes. Dermal fillers can also enhance many features by filling in hollow cheeks and eyes, receding chins, thinning lips, jaw lines and eyebrows, and they can even be used to hide nose bumps or plump thinning skin on the hands. Treatment can take as little as 30 minutes depending on the number of injection sites and the injectables used. These injections generally do not cause patients to complain of significant discomfort and results can be seen almost immediately.

We use many types of dermal fillers so that patients have a variety of choices. The effect can last from 3-18 months depending on which one is used and where it is injected, though of course results may vary depending on the patient. In some cases the dermal fillers will stimulate your skin to make its own collagen, which means you may have improvement that lasts for years after the filler has dissolved.

We only use fillers that are biocompatible with human skin, which lessens the chance for an allergic reaction, and none of our fillers are made using animal products. Your aesthetic consult cost is applied toward any filler treatment you might choose. We hope you will call us to let Dr. Roberts advise on how you can achieve your best appearance.
